The main thing regarding self service movers is that only you are responsible for packing all your stuff. The security that comes with self services movers is that once you pack your stuff inside the crates then you can lock up the crate with your own locks. After you have packed and locked the container, the moving company will then haul the containers onto the trailer and transport it. Upon reaching the new location the moving company then unloads all your containers and leaves. Then they leave you alone with your crate, and now it's your responsibility to begin the unpacking process.
